Humans with the ability to absorb atomic energy are called biotomics. With their cells charged, their strength, speed, and stamina are greatly increased. When biotomics are in the presence of other biotomics, they can generate a cascade of atomic energy that results in a massive explosion. The blast is generated outwardly from the energy field surrounding the biotomics which protects them from the effects of the explosion.

After the Incident at NoPac Alpha, the AEC created the Atomic Guard, humans trained and armed to keep biotomics under control. The Atomic Guard uses the slang term “Tomis” (pronounced “tommies”) to address biotomics.
